Head Swap????
Can you swap out 24v and 12v heads on the motors? say put a 12v head on a 24v motor? yes, I know it is going backwards, but just a thought for something other than a P-pump convesion. still put the P-pump on but also do the head and it would be more of a 24v to 12v swap. Just something I thought of.

Nope, piston bowl geometry is unique to each head, 12 valves are off center slightly and 24 valves are centered with the cylinder.
If someone did such a thing and it did run it probably wouldn't run good, if it would even run and would probably make some funny noises too.

then why do the 12v guys put 24v heads on their trucks for better airflow. it does take some work to do it...but it has been done. also there are some differences in oil and water passages from the block to the head i think.

the cams will run in either engine. we just did a conversion. we had a 12v and we used it's block. we put on a 24v 2nd gen head, fly cut 3rd gen common rail pistons from haisley and a custom cam. then used the p-pump the front cover was still a 12v cover so it all fit, except we hav to re route the oil feed to the pump to the outside because it was hiting on the intake runner on the head. I have not heard of anyone else ever having that problem.
