head studs on a 12v

i was wanting to know if you have to pull the engine to put 14mm head studs. my friend swears that you have to and i told him that there is enought clearance to drill the block out with a right angle drill. is this true or not. if not i guess we will have to use the 12mm studs.

Why would you want to put the 14mm studs in? For a street truck up until I'd say 800+hp the 12's will be just fine. Also I don't think a right angle drill would be the best way to drill these things considering that you want the holes just as dead straight as can be and I'd imagine that it's very tight and hard to see how straight your drilling once you get under the cowl.

Yes, you HAVE to pull the engine! At least if you want it done right, and not end up with a very large paperweight!
