Head gasket blew
After pounding the head with 60 psi of boost the head gasket went south. Well I guess know with the head work that I going to get done I can add 100hp shot of NOS.

Playing with the nos and you might blow a few more. At least I've seen a pile of blown HG's hanging in the garage of a DTR member that did some nitrous tuning.

Pulled the head off today. Happy to see that the cross-hatch is still in the cylinders! Did not know that there was a fuel line bolted to a bracket on the head, now I need to replace that as well
O well

I doubt I will have an issue now though because it went back together with studs and o-rings, but we will see.

A suggestion if your gonna run NOS, drop your pressure setting on your blowoff valve/wastegate. I heard that Jetpilot pulled 900+ponies with his set at 45psi. Your adding an oxygen to the cylinder anyways so boost isn't as important and it saves your headgasket. I can think of better things to do than changing a head gasket out. Also re-torque your head often if your gonna pull big boost numbers. I've done mine four times so far, each time I still get abit more sweeze on the gasket.

I dont think that I will have a problem blowing it again. The company that I am getting the rings and studs and is doing the machining states that it will handle well over 100psi.

If your gonna run that much boost, you should get a copper gasket. There way tuffer to blow out than the normal composite gasket. They have issues leaking coolant, thats why not to many use it. You must have lots of fuel for 100lbs of boost. If your planning on using nos, your gonna need some extra fuel (black smoke) to reap the full beniefts of nos. Bigger sticks help with this. With my set-up I was told that I could run to 65psi without alot of worry, but the engine has to at normal operating temp. Anything more than 65psi, I was pushing the limits of the my head gasket and o-ring.

My truck is apart right now. Two head gaskets in 26 hours sucks. It took 3 hours to pull the head the first time and only an hour and twenty seven minutes the second time. So does this mean I can pull it in 45 min. next time?
