Dad? Who do you think taught me to be the way I am? You should know this from taking us to the grocery store together. Remember the old paper towel roll and old lady.

I have heard so much crap about how bad the Dodge trannies are that I just get tired of it. I think mine has about 100k on it(40k modded), and the first one didnt go out because of wear(tow truck drivers fault when it was wrecked)... I never have any problems out of it; I haul quite a bit every summer, have pulled it 2 times, drag raced it who knows how many times; and a lot of that was on the stock converter. Now I dont beat on it too hard, and I hardly ever power brake it much except to build a little boost sometimes; but I drive it how I want, and it gets worked. Sure has held up good so far. My uncle has 150k on his auto in his 97(original tranny), and he also pulls with it plenty, and the truck is stock, but it keeps on ticking. I almost think they last better if you actually use them, and drive them hard A boy at school is always trying to tell me how bad the trannies in the dodges are. He is a BIG D-max/Chevy/Allison fan, and thinks God himself sent that combo to earth. Anyways. He got to hate dodge trannies because their 1500 dodge tranny went out twice. Of Course nevermind the fact that they pulled a freakin 30ft horse trailer with it with like 4 horses all the time(yes with a 1500). I told him they needed at least a 3/4 ton for that. Anyways his family hates dodges and their trannies; so now they have a mighty 97 2500 6.5 5spd fire breathing dragon. This kid drives an infinity(thinks it will outrun my truck ). I just get tired of hearing it from people who have no idea how they hold up. My uncle has a 98 1500 4x4 auto with the 360, and he pulls a boat with it a LOT, and with close to 200k miles he has not had any tranny problems with it; or any other problems for that matter. Sorry for the rant. I just get worked up when people talk so bad about something they have no idea about. Blue is right; they are much better than they are lead on to be. Im happy with mine. Especially now that5 I have the triple disc Goerend Converter

My personal opinion is no tranny will hold up to abuse. (hasnt stopped me yet) and as far as autos go dodge builds the best one out there my stocker lasted 12k with the comp box and im a idiot the tc is what failed. I bit the bullet paid good money for a newbie and it lasted for 1000 miles so time for more mods

Thats too bad, since that basically ruins a motor. 32K on an oil change with cheaper dyno oil and all severe in town stop and go driving. The inside of your motor probably looks like a gooey mess.

IMHO, if a person can't even manage to take care of a vehicle, the last thing they need to be doing is worrying about modifying it.

I might be wrong, but I think he's talking about ATF not his oil.

He was talking about ATF; not engine oil. Dont get too excited before you understand what he is talking about. Most people dont change their ATF but once every 100k miles. Three times in 100k is not to bad.

Oil change every 32k? Not even if I had a dual bypass system. I change my oil, oil filter, AND fuel filter every 6000 miles religiously. Trust me, I'm **** about oil changes. Tranny fluid changes, ehh, not to worried about it. In the vehicles my parents have owned in the last 20 years of my life they've all been taken to well over 100k with maybe one flush, maybe. And that's even on our tow vehicles. When we dropped the pan to change the VB on mine the tranny was still nice and shiny and the fluid was still a nice red color. That was somewhere between 75k-80k miles. The last time it had the fluid changed was at 35-40k. And the fluid in it's not gonna get changed again until the trans gets rebuilt this summer. I might change it to dexron 3 depending on how late in the summer I get the trans but we'll see. So just hold your horses and relax a little, my truck does get regular maintenance. Just not the trans or t-case or axles.

OK wheewwww.... I'm glad I need to insert foot in mouth....better than what I thought! Sorry about the confusion.

I would use Amsoil ATF in your new trans, my whole truck is Amsoiled, love the stuff. I actually go 20K on an engine oil change... on full synthetic and proper filtering of course...

After the 1000 mile break in I plan on going with Amsoil or redline in the trans.

Exterior accessories that don't void warranty are ok.

She blames you for the stacks.
