H2 rims

Could someone give some advice on H2 rims. How much opening of the center, and with what? Any other issues? Any pics on a 2nd gen?

So nobody's done this to a 2nd gen??? If it works on a 3rd gen why not on 2nd, can anybody think of a difference? You can pick up tires and wheels for around 400 bucks. Seems like a cheap why to get 17" wheels and 35" tires.

As crude as using a hole saw with a round cut out of wood to keep it centered, all the way to having them dismounted and done at a machine shop.

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago.. I pretty sure the you want to open it to 4.77". Just measure your old rims. You'll have to modify the rear center caps also. I love mine. Can't beat it.

Oh yeah.. I was able to do mine on a Bridgeport without removing the tires. you just need to support rims with blocks and then clamp them down. It's not too bad really.

I did a set about 6 months ago. I think I opened mine up to 4.772 or 4.774, can't remember. Like Sea Bass said, measure your original rims.

You definitely want to have these cut on a mill or a lathe. Make some phone calls to local machine shops, they should be able to help you out. The OEM wheels are hub-centric, meaning that they align themselves off the hub. You will find most aftermarket wheels are not like this! It works, however its just not 100% right. 2nd, and much more important, most wheel balancers will balance the wheel off the opening for the hub. If you use a Dremmil tool (or whatever), you'll never be able to properly balance the tires.
