WELP....i work for a Local JD Dealer here in town. I work with a guy that used to work for Cummins. He has this turbo that he gave me thinking i can do something with it. It is an H1E off some big truck i gather. From my research, its an old school HX-40(?). Only thing, it has an exhaust housing for a big truck. AND its 26cm2!! HUGE! haha......can the housing be changed to work with something more like a 5.9? NOW, i know that i really have no use for it since i want something more like a HTB2 or stacking on a HT3B with my HX-35. SO any more info on this thing would be helpful...i just want to get it set up so i can get rid of it and further someone elses project!

Dan, I'd call and talk to Paul at Htt.. one of the upgrades for the H1C is to use the 1E wheel and compressor housing.. basically making something close to a 35/40... But he can also get different exhaust housings... so you might be able to get a smaller housing and use it like a 40... I know the wheels are a little taller on the 35's than the H1C's.. The exhaust housings on the 35's are the same as the H1C...
You'll probably end up with a new exhaust housing or a H1C and make it into a C/E...
Bring it next weekend.. I have a 1C.. we'll compare parts.. and see how much difference there is in the exhaust housings...

Cool....i brought it last time and someone told me it was too small and not worth a crap! haha....So i wrote it off and didnt think it was worth anything.....if i can get an exhaust housing for it....i might just run it temporarly.
I think i have a line on SEVERAL HT3B for a VERY good price. SO i can use the H1E (With the correct exhaust housing) and build my twins in the mean time..........food for thought.........
