Gun Rack Mounting

Gun Rack Mounting
Anyone mounted a gunrack in the interior of their truck without screwing up the headliner? I'm not talking about the window mount or suction cup style. I'm looking at a Skybar or something similar, but I don't want to order without either seeing one installed in the same application first, or talking to someone who has installed one.

Cool. I've wanted a place to store guns in my truck (however I'm not cool with having them in the back window). This is something I am definitely interested in. I'll have to sit on the back seat and see how much head room there is to spare.

I have use the Bigsky BSR-2 since 1992. They are nice.
You have to drill plumb through the cab. Mine came with screws, metal and rubber washers, and nuts to attach with.

Newer model trucks 02~06 can order the under-the-back-seat option 'Du-Ha'. This option is most preferred but not available for a 2000 model.

Over the seat hanger type rack would work, but is not a permanent fixture, and would interfere with passengers in the back seat.

This is what I did not want to do........I guess there is no inner-liner so to speak, anywhere in the cab. The mounting bar seems versatile enough to go just about anywhere, but I really don't want to drill all the way through. Yours is the flush mount system that won't mount any other way. I was hoping a SBR system would be able to mount without drilling all the way through. I guess the BSR drilling all the way through on the very top of the cab wouldn't be too bad.

I have owned probably a dozen of these in one truck or another. I currently have one in my 95 chevy but not in my 01 Dodge. I did however have one mounted in my 97 dodge. If you buy those stubby fat self tapping screws, you do not have to drill all the way through the roof. You must be very careful though.
