Guages NEVER cost to much! Think about the price of the cummins engine if you melt it down,,, then you will say I guess guages arent that expensive. Just my opinion is all

Smarty........will add more fuel increasing the EGTs to hazardous levels
Cummins Engine rebuild after a Meltdown due to high EGTs.....$1000+

just dont buy everything at once. get gauges first. save a little more then get the smarty. i know its easier said than done but OutlawStorm really put it in perspective...$300 gauges or $1000's for an engine.

to each their own but you assume all risk with your decision.

and if you think gauges are expensive just wait til your auto goes south....and what if it does on your very first run with a power-adder!?!?

Everyone always says gauges are a must, and while I think they're a good idea they're pretty pointless if you don't look at them!

Most people (myself included) look at the gauges when they're on the way back down, some while saying "wow, look how hot it got that time!" I'd venture to guess that almost everyone on here that has melted and engine had gauges.

I know that there are people on here that do nothing but stare at gauges and they are probably the same people that refuse to shut of their truck off at the drive-thru because the pyro is at 325 and not 300 and then complain when they're order is wrong. My personal suggestion would be to buy the "box" (smarty, tst, edge......) and a pyro if money is limited. You don't "need" a full set of gauges, they can be helpful, but not needed.

I'm putting in gauges before any power adders. Just makes sense to me at it's not like you have to stare at them. Just one more gauge to see as I glance the dash. It's easy enough to see the other gauges in the dash while driving, these are no harder to see. I had them in my last Dodge.

Yeah, they do cost a lot. But they're a fun mod. Not only do I get to watch the needles move, I also like to know the most about my engine while I drive.

Just get the juice and attitude you say you want to get in your signature. You get good power with that and you get gauges not to mention all of the safety features for a pretty reasonable price.

I would say get the gauges they might just save your engine. Last summer I was driving up a very steep long climb and I saw my temp rise up very fast so I let out and slowed down a bit to let it cool. At the time I only had a K&N intake and gauges. As I got close to the top of the hill the traffic was very slow going and I passed a few cars now that my temps were down. What I saw next was a camper that was pulled by a tow truck so I passed it. The next was another tow truck with a ford on the back. I wonder what happened to him????
Glad I let out of it and I was not pulling a trailer!!

The expense of gauges is why we built this:

It will do 3 gauges and if you want to measure lift pump pressure you can do so by adding the sending unit which is pretty cheap. This replaces the tranny sensor.

The 2007 price is even lower now that the volume we ar producing has really escalated! Check with our vendors on here and with the DTR store as the MAP prices is really attractive!
