Guages: The 2 week saga.
#16
Got two more boxes from UPS yesterday.
One contained the fuel pressure guage that Rod rounded up from points unknown since ISSPRO decided to put them on backorder again.
The other contained the A-Pillar pod, stainless fuel pressure line, tapped banjo, needle valve,
necessary connections and washers.
I'm thinking Rod had to eat a bit on shipping, since everything came in 3 boxes from 3 different places.
Can't get better customer service.
Maybe I'll snap some pics of everything tomorrow.
Installation is still set for next Wednesday, bright and early at 9am.

Shoot Phox,
You should have let me know you wanted to put guages in your pickup, I would have helped you out. It is just too bad you wanted to do it during finals week. I don't think that is worth paying someone to do it when it is so easy.

I figured with the cost of the tools required and 6-10 hours of my time it would be still be cheaper.
I come from a long line of "duct tape and bailing wire will fix that right up".
Didn't want the install to look too "booty fab"
Going to tackle my mud flap project today, and fully expect it to take 3-4 hours.
Trimming these to fit is going to be fun.

I got the mudflaps done.
Not happy with my trim job though.
(need a crying smiley).
$44 down the drain.
2 trips to the hardware store.
Bolts were too short for some of the positions.
Then the ones I bought the 1st trip worked in half of those, so back again for longer yet bolts.
Too dark for pics now, but I'll snap some tomorrow and get some group feedback.
Maybe I'll keep them on and see if they grow on me, if not, back to the Cummins powerstore to order another set.

Guages are in.
Got to Baker's in Ogden at 8:45, appointment was at 9.
Install guy didn't get there till 9, of course, but dove right in.
Left there at 2:30, a wee bit longer than the 3 hours they thought it would take.
Cost a bit more than I figured on as well.
After they added the Dodge tranny line with the sender port, extra wire, quart of tranny fluid and miscellaneous shop supplies (connectors, electrical tape, sealant, pillar paint and such) it came to right around $380).
Still worth it, it would have taken me a lot longer, and it would look very unprofessional.
Fuel pressure sits on 15 at idle, got it down to 10 flooring it on the onramp, 12-13 cruising.
Boost sits @6 cruising, got it up to 20 on the onramp.
EGT sits at 900 cruising, got it up to 1100 on some small hills,
gets almost down to 300 on the offramp.
Tranny temp sits @140 cruising, jumped up to 190 sitting at the light on the offramp.
Didn't have them mess with coloring the bulb,
how hard is it, once they're installed, to remove them and color the bulb green?
Also need to find a way to dress the wires coming out of the EGT in the extra guage cup on the dash, there is a big connector visible through the windshield.
(barely visible in the pic, to the right of the fuel pressure)
Boost guage seems to make some noise, I believe I've heard it referred to as "flutter".
Is there a cheap easy fix for this?
That's it for today, sitting around for 6 hours tends to drain oneself.

Dude,
Nicely done! The bulbs have a cover on them (mine do anyway) that are kinda like little condoms for light bulbs. You know...safe light emitting and all! Anyway this bulb condom is red, that's what gives it the red glow. Find some green bulb condoms and replace them and you should have green lighting.
I can see the thread topic now........"Green light bulb condoms"

In real life, they're just plain white.
I took a pic with a flash, but that washed them out, but didn't show the red as much.
