gt45 for twins
I was just looking at the turbos for sale on ebay and the gt45 caught my eye. It has a exducer size of 70.1 x82.55 and inducer size of 86 x 109. Would this make a very good compound turbo with a hy or hx 35 as the little turbo?

The compressor wheel would probably be too big to match with a hx/hy unless you ran a larger external wastegate. I'm guessing the small exhaust housing would choke before the big charger has a chance to spool much.

How does the gt45 compare to the s400 and the 3b most people use? I have a couple of external wastegates around to use, one is a 38 and the other is a 50 cm I think. I am working on a set for my truck but my wife wants a here truck to run better so I was looking for a bottom turbo to match the 35-40 on it. I have a hy35,hx35-40 and a hx40 with a 16cm ex housing to work with.

S400's range from 64-72mm inducer. I've seen a 1.10 and a 1.32 a/r exhaust housing. I don't know the exducer sizes.

S400's go up to 75mm there Bud...75mm=B2 Exducers on turbine are 95mm IIRC
A B2 is "roughly" the same size as a GT4202...except they can be had with tighter turbines
I happen to have a GT4294 (71mm Compressor) with a 1.01A/R W/G turbine housing. Should be a wicked spooler No to find time anf find out

Big Brother is somewhere in the 90-100mm Compressor...
All info on a GT45 I can round up says its a 97mm EXDUCER/MAJOR diameter. That's just slightly bigger than a S400.
Now, the one you found says different. Coould you link us to that page?? Seems odd! If those sizes are right, it's in BB territory

Well, if I wasn't so computer illiterit I would link it! The ebay listing number is 8067955898. I really don't understand the inducer, exducer numbers and the a/r numbers so I could be way off on what this turbo is. If it is the right size for a bottom turbo the price is right on it, but it is a evilbay product too! Maybe the turbo wizards on this sight can give a good prospective on this.

Mine is a ball bearing model, but i am switching to a 1.01 tommarrow I will let ya know how it does after I hook this weekend

You guys are still speaking WAY over my head. In simple terms how does this turbo compare on hot and cold sides to the more used turbos like the 3b and s400. The garrett sight shows a gt37 for the dodge trucks, has anyone put one of these on?

u dont want that turbo , well by that place or lets say that brand name of turbo , Master Power turbos r good and bad , the Gt45 there selling is not a regular style garret GT45 , u have to look close @ what there saying

the inlet is not the wheel its the housing true 4.25 that wheel measures 67+mm inducer , the turbine sounds wright , i have full details on that turbo like i said Master power have some good turbos ,, iv heard of one guy with a MPgt45 make 500 on a 12v
becareful of those ebay guys , there for a while they were selling 60mm turbos advertise as 70 or T70 but that was the a/r of the compressor housing alot of peeps got the SHAFT
there is a S400 on there from mikes turbo his specs are usally wright and those look good if u can spool it
try to get a bigger turbine wheel than compressor for diesels , i learn that that the hard way

Thanks Rods, I usually treat anything on ebay like a loaded gun! The turbo looked to good to be true at that price. Where is the s400 listed on there? If I can ever get the time to get the set I'm working on right now on one of my trucks the next set will probably have the hy35 on top of either a 3b or the k31 that RONA has been talking about on his truck out in CA. sounds like a quick spooling setup. I'm not looking for a super high hp setups, just want something that spools super quick and will go in the 500 range with cool pyro temps. I don't know how long the 12v will last going up to 1700 with the hx40 moaning hard!

That charger wasn't big enough!! 68mm is TINY for a primary
If you're looking for spool, and Dodgezilla/35/40 hybrid over a K31 should be wicked!! I'm sure you've already talked to Ron A about it, right!!
