GSK problem

Just got done putting in some 3grand gov springs and now my truck has no bottom end. If I get on it, it drives normal till about 1800 then takes off like a rocket. Could I have put the fuel plate on wrong or are the springs too tight? Mods are 4inch exhaust , no cat or muffler, tst #4 and an airfilter.

Any thoughts?

Re:GSK problem

when you put the gov kit in did your idle go up any? or down? I would say to take the fuel plate out and check it I have never heard of this but someone else might know. I have the 4k gov kit which is just one more pump spring.

Re:GSK problem

I just did a 4000 gsk and over all its great...bt my idle went up? from 750 or so to 900...? What does that mean?

I turned it down to 780 or so and now it dies occasionally when lifting off the throttle....like coming up to a red light.....

not all the time....just oce in awhile....? do I need to go tighter on the gov springs? like 1/2 turn?

Re:GSK problem

it the idle goes that means you puth the tighter than stock. not a bad thing but it might be the cause of you truck cutting out.

Re:GSK problem

just go one click at a time on both sides. the only way you will know. I don't think you will have a problem with them where you are but I don't know why the truck is dieing like that I have had mine tight as far as I could and loose as I could and it ran the same just more RPMlol'

Re:GSK problem

I bet your lack of bottom end is comming from your fuel plate being cocked just a little. I had the same problem when I was new to bombing but I fixed it by using a machinists square. give it a look and see what you can find out.
About the idle, if it were me I would leave the springs where they are(which is probably just a couple clicks too loose) because if you get them too tight you will get a real bad lope at about 1200 rpm and it will drive you nuts not to mention how difficult it makes it to pull.
just my couple pennies
Good luck
