Grinding the fule plate

I heard mention on here about grinding the fuel.

I have an extra #8 fuel plate, now could grind or mill a different profile on it and if so how would what profile to make.

If you know where it came from you may be able to exchange it for a differant one, or do a search on 100 plates or grinding plates or???? Good Luck and keep us posted as to how it works out for you.

I ordered it from AST and when I open the box there was 2 plates in the box when I called them they didn't seem to want it back. Plus I wouldn't feel right exchanging it since it was an extra one.

I'll do the search and see what I come up with.

I hear alot about the #10 plate, what is it about the #10 that make it good?

Thank "F" for the e-mail

I love a #10 plate with a 3K kit for most trucks...... Personally I think this is the best combo for the "daily driver" truck.

It is where the fuel curve is set in on it that makes it work so well with the governor springs. The curve isn't flat, but it doesn't come with the "drop offs" that the other plates have. EGTs are a snap to control, just slide it back and forth. I'd sell the 8 and grind your stocker.

I ground the #6 that was in my truck because it's all I had... if I had a stocker laying around, I'd just grind it and sell the #8...

I know this may cause some flaming but we should trace our profiles before we install them and share them openly with the group.

Yea I guess.
I was expecting to hear people whining about how that would be stealing from the various camplate makers out there to share profiles. I thought I had read a thread on here with all that but maybe it was TDR.
