Question grill guard

i recently bought a '98 dodge 2500 sport and i was wondering what the best way to mount a grill guard on one is....i am going to build my own and was needing a little help....the best place i can find is to simply drill into the frame on the uprights right inside where the fog lights go on the bumper....however i don't know if this will be enough support...any suggestions??? email is tenichols@mailblocks.com

You ought to go to a Ranch Hand dealer and get the mounting brackets they sell. It is a Zee configuration of heavy gauge 3" angle that bolts to the frame, backs up to the bumper and stiffens it, the the brush guard is bolted thru the bumper to the zee bracket. It will take a small amount of figgering to get the brackets placed just right, but they work great. I have thumped 1 bambi so far and all it did to my brush guard was to lightly coat it in deer fuzz....

Good luck,

Gary

Do you have the "sport" model truck Gary? Any chance you could post some pics?
