Went to buy some lead sheet tonight, 1/8" thick lead sheets worked out to $31 CDN/sq. ft. That is just way too much money I thought. It would cost alot of money to line the truck. Looks like I will be going with the GSI, and is that asphault deadener permanent? I was looking to line with something I could remove if I didnt like it or If 50 yrs from now I restore the truck to original . Thanks.

I'd imagine with a heat gun and a putty knife it'd come back off. Would be a bit tedious but pretty much anything done to a vehicle can be undone with enough work.

hey now, our dollar is goin UP UP UP Right now our dollar gets 82.5c US. But about the lead, took the guy a while to find it, then you could get it in different sized sheets. A 3ftx4ft sheet was $370. Soooo thats a little bit pricey for me .

Oh ya also, How many sq. ft Would it take to do the entire inside of our std. cab pickups? I am talking about doors, floor, backboard, roof and firewall. Any rough estimates or if you know for sure even better

Forrest, you should go into business shipping lead sheet north of the border. Theres no shortage of CTD's here.

not sure on the square footage of the complete interior of his truck.
lead is heavy... $$$ to ship. and I want no part of taking anything worth any $$ through Canadian customs

Ok, I was going to go with asphault sound deadener with the GSI soundstop foam overtop and I still probably will. BUT.... do you guys know the bootliner used in winterboots, well It is really nice stuff, I have gotten a bunch of it, it looks like it would deaden sound pretty good, it is about a quarter inch thick, and very dense, but not very heavy at all, and as someone mentioned, the more mass, the better. If I were to line the cab with it, probably doubling up everywhere, do you guys think that would work alright? Or should I just go with the original suggestion on here with the asphault deadener with GSI soundstop foam? Thanks.
PS - What is the best for price vs. quality for asphault deadener, Ive heard of the Dynamat, brown bread, fatmat, industrial stuff used for inside houses or something... any ideas?
