Got my hood done! YAY!!! :)

Ok, so I have been looking for a decent looking STEEL hood for my truck with not much luck. The only thing I could find was a cowl induction type but I really didn't want that because its more of a Chevy thing to me. I wanted something more "DODGE" if ya know what I mean. I also wanted it to be functional, with a real air intake to the engine compartment.
I ended up buying a factory "Hemi" hood scoop for a 3rd gen truck. I cut a decent sized hole in my hood that was scary and welded the steel factory hood scoop to my hood. It warped up along the welds pretty badly and I thought my hood was toast...
I took it to my good friends at Placerville Body Shop and had them work their magic on it. It came out great! I LOVE the way it looks, it lets cold air into the engine compartment and its more of a Dodge style of hood. It looks like the hood was built that way cause it came out so smooth.
Anyways, thought I would share

That's AWESOME! It follows the lines on the truck very well. It's the best non-stock Dodge hood that I've seen and I normally don't like scoops.

I thought about doing that but I couldn't figure out how to prevent water from blasting my filter on rainy days. Oh well, it seems to help a little with EGT's so its functional enough for me!

Oh.. I did not mean anything by it not being functional at all. I had thought of putting a louvered vent on the fender by the air box... I must say that I don't have the nutz...

Your hood really looks sharp. I really like the color too... I was trying to find a graphite colored 01, but no such luck. I got 2 tone black which is my next favorite.

Sorry if I seemed like I was giving a backhanded complement.
