Got the Comp in my buddies 01, Question!
Well, I got that wrong year comp sold, and we found a comp for an 01, We installed it last night, works a ton better. There are only a couple of issues I am having. 1, that is probably the most annoying, if you power brake the truck, as soon as you let off the gas, the truck doesnt launch forward at all, the power comes on in "stages" if you know what I mean, like 5 stages in the rpm band as its taking off, and it is not hard at all, but only when you power brake it. I notice this with my brother in laws 01, he has a vanaaken and 80hp sticks. I have a comp in my 99, and have never has this at all.
Also, when you power brake it, the truck will hit about 2000 RPM and wont rev any higher. The power just cuts off, is that the converter stall kicking in? I also never noticed this in my 99, but its been a while since I had my stock converter. Thanks and I really appretiate any input.

Your 01 has tourqe management. It limits the power it makes in first gear and backs off on shifts. Thats why you can burn out in the 01 02 very easy. there is another box that gets rid of it but its more money. I think its the bully dog rad box.

ok, gotcha, its weird that you say that you can burn out in the 01 easily, cause we tried yesterday with powerbraking it, floored, and it doesnt even come close to breaking the tires loose, whereas my 99 was no problem. The truck takes off faster if you just stomp on it from a stop rather than powerbraking it, it acts like a dog then...
