Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

Dojman,
Are they "E" or "D" rated tires??? Just wondering, cause I'm looking for some tires, but I want to keep the "E" rated tires for towing.
Big dawg

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

Runnin these (285/75R16) on my '96. Great tire for all season, snow and mud. Until something make me change, they'll be my tire of choice from here on out in NE PA. So far mileage is decent, over 15K miles and plenty of tread left. Should make 30K no problem.

As soon as I can get a 4" - 5" lift for my 2003 3500 4x4, I plan to run the 37x12.5R17 version of these on the stock wheels (recommend 8.5" wheels, 8" is close enough) which are also their largest weight handling (range 'E', over 4000 lbs).

I also just read the latest issue of the TDR and the new Earthroamer truck (Ford SD) uses the tires in that size also, and on the stock Ford rims which are also 17x8 rims.

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

I've got 31,000km mixed hwy/city on mine now, tread is now 53% of new and wear is very even (just rotated for 2nd time). I had them siped which greatly enhances the wet road and ice/snow traction.

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

I am pretty sure that they would be rated "E". Talked to the tire shop today and they said there rated at 3,300 lbs @ 65 psi.

For the life of me I couldn't find that info on the Goodyear site.

B

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

Big dawg, mine are rated D, ten ply. I see a few are runnin these with good results so far. I have the road hazard on them. That, supposedly, gets you a new tire, not adjusted. Gettin fifty back from Goodyear too. So far, so good. ;D

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

I really like the looks of them but I've had such good luck with these BFG MT's that I'd hate to do the tire game all over again. : The set of Goodyear MT's I had where awesome tires off road but they just didn't last long on the road.

Good Luck
DB

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

I had some mtr's on my cj-7 and for me they didnt last very long, granted about 20% of the time they were off road but nothing to abusive. I would like to see them last a little longer and be a little closer in price to the BFG's

Re:Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 's

I ordered a set of Goodyear 265/75 R16 E Wrangler AT/S for my truck. Take a look at the Goodyear web sight. http://tires2.digiknow.com/goodyear/...ea=Light+Truck The rating for the ATS tire meets the rating of the MTR in snow traction and off road traction. The ATS exceeds the MTR in dry traction, wet traction, and how quiet they run. In my view it is about the best all round tire they have.

PS Sams Club has darn good prices on tires.

Edward
