good single disk clutch?

I'm looking for a decent single disk that i can afford. Right now i only have the juice but I'll end up adding Mach 4's and possibly some more..
I may pull once a year if that.

thanks

I was gonna say the same thing. Dan has built himself a fine reputation for quality and customer service.

Upgrading will definately help in the power holding department. The extra surface area helps the disc get a better bite, plain and simple. The price of a Con OFE from Valair is hard to beat...

Xomer, when I upgraded to the 13", I noticed a big difference in clutch bite. I also noticed that truck revs up slower, and feels more torquey at takeoff. I have never killed my truck with this clutch, but I have killed it more than once with the 12 1/4"er. If the 12" will hold your power needs, and you want faster revs, stay 12". If you plan on lots of burn outs, maybe on sledpull, and lots of boosted launches, get the 13". I also feel that the 13" is smoother for backing up trailers and such.

Just get whatever you can afford from ValAir, I bought my 3800# Ceramic 12.25" a year ago for right around $500. Best clutch ever! I can't slip it and I have done lots of burnouts and a few 3rd gear launches, plus I drive it daily at 400+rwhp with a very heavy foot.

If you do decide on a valair, make sure you get the ceramic. The con fe is not very smooth.

A FE clutch from any vendor will be pretty grabby, nature of the beast.

I have heard people not like the ceramic flywheel eaters for being grabby as well.

I could care less if my clutch digs a hole through my flywheel, when I upgrade it will not be anything except a dual disk from ValAir.

I took my clutch out after a few days of driving and everything looked new except the flywheel had a rub from the pucks on the clutch disk. I only took it out because my rear main blew out.

Quick Reply: good single disk clutch?
