ok guys i am going turbo hunting next week and need to know what i am looking for iw ill be going to a semi truck salvage yard




what i am wanting is a good strong towing capable twins setup for this crew cab 6x6 hauler i am building i am looking for 1,300 FT LB TQ or so i will be having the turbos rebuilt or doing them my self i have a complete 94 engine from a standard truck with turbo on it will this stock turbo work for a top or should i get a biger one from a semi i know i will be getting a bottom froma semi just not sure which ones would be good

A K31 from a Detroit Diesel 60 motor should work well for a bottom turbo, an S400 off the same motor will work as well. Top turbo will need to be something smaller than what a semi runs, a good S300 based turbo is your best bet, or a BB Garrett turbo if you can find one.

 

ok that gives me a place to start this yard has all kinds of trucks from 2 ton all the way up will the stock turbo from the 94 work as a top ?? maybe some mods to it ??
