I was planning on getting a G. bros. trans, but was woundering if they do other work on the Cummins , you know one stop shopping , I know that I could just call em but with all the over the phone help he's doing , it would be easyer to ask here and keep him on the phone with the more technical stuff ?

Well, my '97 started shuddering yesterday upon TC lockup while pulling a small city street hill. The truck currently has 139,500 miles on it, and I'm not sure if I should pay the shipping for a complete rebuild, or if I should buy the VB and triple-disc TC and do the work myself. Of course, the complete rebuild is the least time consuming of the two, so perhaps I should just go that route. Time is money, especially when you're self-employed.

Are there any people out there who have any complaints about Dave's transmissions at all? Please direct all complaints directly to me via PM. To be honest, I'm not expecting a single response. I can't imagine doing business with anybody else (great guy to talk to on the phone), but I'd like to hear about any problems that anybody has had with the transmission so I can address those items with Dave at time of order.

Thanks.

I second royta's request. I am hopping to get a tripple disk from him soon (or a single disk if he gives me the warm fuzzy feeling on the 400 and less hp requirements) and would love to hear if I should have any concerns. So far he has been great to talk to.

thanks and great thread!!!!!!

Sorry, NO complaints here, and John, NO he does not do engine work, although, if you need a new tps, he will let you know, and put one on!,I live only 35 minutes away, and talk to him freaquantly,{alittle more lately, been discussing a 5-speed-auto conversion for a freind} but if you got anything, you would like to know, just ask, or if you want to talk to the man himself, check out my sig!

Dave

I know I'm late to this party but just got back from Texas Coast and been
out of touch. I'll be 60 yrs old in April, spent 35 yrs in Credit Business, never
met a nicer guy than Dave, AND he knows his business frontwards and backwards. St Lucas is so small, no motels or restaurants, Dave bought the
old HOUSE next to his shop to house customers!!!

I'm only making around 300 hp/600 lb.ft torque, but we pull 12k of 5'er and
BOY is it easier now that I have his VB and triple loc TC. He told me if I didn't
like the VB after I got home and hooked up to the 5'er, let him know and he'd send another to a local shop and pay to have it swapped out. This boy is
first class!!!

ps: how bout them 'horns!!!

You probably arent gonna find any complaints on Dave. I honestly dont think i have ever head of any. He is a great guy to deal with. And like flippinfred said. He will go out of his way to treat you right. I have heard of numerous people having tranny problems, and Dave send out a whole new converter, and VB no questions, no money, and neither be the problem.
