Glacier 392 questions
im planning on buying one of these systems either today or tomm. i have a few questions. first, my truck has an edge comp, 4 inch straight piped exhaust, and i was planning on stacking the smarty with the comp. it doesnt have gauges and after the glacier 392 i plan on getting them. do i need to get the big line kit for this set up or will the normal one work for it. i dont really plan on doing much else to the truck. second, should i wait until i get the fuel pressure gauge to install this so i can see what kind of fuel pressure i am getting or will it matter. thanks for all the help. i appreciate it.

get the gauges yesterday. youre driving blind with the comp and no EGT gauge. the fuel pressure gauge will help you tune to the pressure you want.
the stock line should work but if youre going to spend $650 on the smarty, spend $120 on the big line kit. you'll probably find yourself wanting more (ie, injectors) and you'll be thankful the fuel system is taken care of...

I hate to say it but an edge comp with no FP guage = dead VP. I put a Walbro in along with gauges after running a comp for a few months and the VP died a few weeks later.
FWIW, I didn't put bigger lines in and my pressure runs between 20 and 14psi.

thanks for all the info. i need to get guages but i was more worried about getting the glacier first cause of the vp. i usually dont even have the comp turned up unless i have a tailgater on my bumper. i havent looked but i dont think that my comp is tapped yet. the truck doesnt feel like it has anymore power than my buddies truck that just has a superchips. i figure i would check into that once i get this other stuff.

I installed mine saturday. The difference it made was incredable. Before, on stage 4 it would just puff a little black smoke, after the walbro when you step in it at stage 1 WOT, the smoke begains to boil and the power starts cooking.
IMO, until you get a gauge, be gentle with your loud pedal. I would'nt even floor it. When i got my attitude monitor i showed a good normal pressure at idle of 12psi. But when I gave it more than half throttle, the low fuel psi alarm would sound and i would dip down to 3 psi.
talk to Richard at glacier and he will set you up. You will certainly have at least 15 after the walbro install. But it is always nice to monitor things.
BTW, just to tell you how fast stock LP's can die, I showed 12psi at idle for 3 months on my stock system. The day I went to start my truck and put it in the garage to install the walbro, I was showing 7si at idle. It was'nt dead, but dying...fast. When i killed it that night it had 12, a few hours later and one startup, bam...7psi. No noise, no warnings or indications. Get the glacier asap.
