The needle valve is actually to dampen the pulses from the VP.
After you install it, shut the valve all the way off (Not gorilla tight ), then have someone watch the guage as you oh-so-slightly open the valve. When they see good pressure stop, shut the truck off to make sure the pressure bleeds off quickly, then restart and make sure the pressure builds quickly. then tweak the packing nut on the valve just a hair to keep the setting where you want it and DRIVE........... ;D
Takes about 10 seconds to do it, and 5 minutes for me to type it.
