gauges and a-piller
I got a autometer a-piller from a another board member, in the instuctions it says to use this cover ontop of the existing a-piller, is this true? What are the best autometer gauges to use? I would like the white faced, but I was wondering, do they make a white faced gauge cover the the stock speedo, tach and other main gauges? If so, where can I get them?
By the way, I have a 2002 ctd.

there are white faces on ebay all the time +/- $35.00. jusat make sure they are for the diesel, as there are also LOTS of gasser gauges too. There is also a heater control panel overlay to match. And yes, the a-pillars fit over the stock pillar cover. Some use plastic rivets (which suck) and others have you use small screws.
FYI, needle replacement accuracy after the white face install is only as good as how well you mark them before the teardown. Pull the speedo peg BEFORE you pull the needle, as it is preloaded, and will settle in a different place. Pull the rest of the needles after you baseline mark them with the ignition ON. And replace them with the ignition ON and all other engine conditions the same!!
