Yes I would agree on the permatex #2, except I had teflon tape handy and have never had a problem with it in the past

Got everything installed, nothing leaks as far as I can tell... ISSPRO sucks and doesnt include a probe with their gauge and since I cant afford a probe, I have to deal with it reading 0... no big deal

boost gauge jumps to 20 pretty quick and stays there as it should

and the fuel pressure gauge is giving me insane problems... I shall start another post to discuss it...

I snapped a lot of really good pictures and I will post them later on.

Not sure if I'm understanding you right.
Your boost shouldn't be staying at 20 unless you're accelerating or pulling a steep hill. Normal flatland crusing should be under 5 psi.

my nickel:

First, almost all Pyros are sold without probes. It's more the rule than the exception. Many offer "kits" that include the probe (autometer comes to mind), but the gauge and probe are usually separate part #s.

Second, the brake hose for gauge pressure is a waste of money. Brake hose is designed NOT to stretch. But a good FP hose will stretch a little to dampen the pulses in the line. These pulses regularly kill electrical senders or cause noise on mechanical gauges.

Drilling the last part of the hole with the engine running is fine.

I also ended up going to 1/4" tubing for the boost. The 1/8" is easily broken, and I couldn't find it locally.

Hope the install turned out well!

Of course it was a waste of money, but I dont like to screw around...

I also put in a line restriction to cut down on the flow... dont think its doing so well

BTW its **** near free anyway thanks to some hookups and "well our inventory wont miss it"

As far as the gauge goes, I've installed more than my fair share and all the ones I have dealt with come with a probe except the ISSPRO... That being said, my experiance is limited to autometer and Defi. I guess we always bought the kits... anyway I know what kind of EGT probe I will be using when I can actually afford it...

I was wondering why the gauge was so cheap lol

Oh ps for the boost line, I used 1/4" ID 250 PSI rated air hose with a clamp on each end... works fine so far

and as for boost, i cruise at 1-2psi but at wot I hit 20 and stay like I should
