Re:Gauges

Hi there,

The usual hole size for the 1/8 is 21/64 and I usually try to get them in the back half to the manifold if you can get a small enough drill. If not try going in the back half of the turbo down spout ( this can put fillings into the turbo however if your not carefull) Thread with 1/8 NPT 27 But If your not sure on the size of the threads, wait till you get the probe, If your hole is to small thats okay, if your hole is to big, you have some work to do,( makes things very unpleasent) This is how we do it, But if someone our there has a better idea I am open to suggestions.

Thanks
Heath

1/8 NPT (1/8-27) uses a 21/64 drill
bit.

Here are some instructions with diagrams and measurements.

Re:Gauges

Just installed my EGT a couple of weeks ago. Used the tstproducts instructions. I used a 3/16 and a 5/16, rather than a 21/64 bit. Made the tapping a little more difficult, but I didn't have a 21/64. When drilling, I used a lot of grease on the bits and put magnets all around the drill on the exhaust manifold. Then I used a probing magnet to fish around in the manifold when I was done drilling and tapping. Took about 20-30 sweeps, but eventually nothing came up. Worked like a champ!

Good luck!

Re:Gauges

I put the Westach combo in about a month ago. Geno's gives you good instructions. I think I have a bad thermocouple. It fluctuates and sometimes doesn't work (reads zero). If you need to contact Geno's don't use the e-mail adress, just call. They read my e-mail and got a response a couple of days later. They asked me to call. I have got a replacement on the way now. They seem to be good people to deal with. Have fun installing, mine was pretty easy. No suprises.
