Gauge pods revisited!
Anybody know if there is a 3 gauge pod available w/tweeter that is a replacement fit and not a "fit over"-------my gauge kit came with the fit over pod and it is a POS in my opinion. No way can I figure out how to get it to fit snug over the existing pillar, the OE tweeter speaker hole holds the replacement pillar out.
Wish I would have bought my kit from Diesel Manor since it comes with instructions, mine is, well, here it is and good luck. ISSPRO gauges, just no instructions with the gauges or pillar.
First I have to get a A- Pillar worth a flip, that's why I would like to have a replacement fit pillar instead of the "fit over".
Thanks, just frustrated with some of the vendors.

Ummmm, you need to trim (ie cut) the stock piller to make the 3 pod pillar fit properly. I had to pretty much trim the whole tweeter pod off of the stock pillar.

They are all "fit over" - theres no such thing as a "replacement fit"...you have to cut out the tweeter hole on your factory A pillar.
Alternatively, you can install your aftermarket A pillar without using the factory one...but as youve already found out, its not easy to get it right.

HUH....... I could agree with that if there was NO stock tweeter pod. But with a stock treeter pod, I really just don't see how it would fit with out some cutting.

I ordered my kit from Diesel Manor, you have to trim your factory A-pillar with that one too. They're all the same. I left my factory A-pillar off and stuck the gauge pillar down in the dash and then put a small screw at the top. Yeah, you got a screw there, but it saved me from having to cut up my factory pillar. The rubber trim around the dash at the bottom of the gauge pillar holds it firmly and the screw holds it at the top. I put a little black paint on the screw so it didn't stand out as much. Looks pretty good and didn't have to destroy my factory A-pillar.

ok, but how did you make it fit tight against the windshield?
Mines the same way as yours and from what Ive seen you have to use the factory A-pillar to get a tight fot and to have it look right.

I just installed the Autometer 2 hole with speaker. The instructions say to grind off the speaker mount on the stock pilar cover and put the new one over the stock cover. Not wanting to destroy my stock cover, I did this.
1) Removed the stock cover
2) Fitted the new cover on without the gauges in
3) Measured distance between the cover and A pliar (about 1")
4) Found some square plastic tube (about 1")
5) Cut 2 pieces about 2" long
6) Attach square plastic tube to A pilar with self tapping screws
7) Attach new pilar cover to plastic spacer tubes with velcro
8) Enjoy the way it looks great, fits tight with no rattles. Easily removed to changed burned out bulb.
Hope this helps Rollin

I went to the wrecking yard and got a pillar cover without the tweeter to install the gauge cover over. I used hard plastic epoxy to glue them together so there are no rivets showing. This way I also kept the original one in good shape.
