Gauge order in pod?
My gauges are finally in. I will be getting them installed next week.
I am getting the usual gauges recommended for manuals: boost, egt and fuel pressure.
What order are most of you guys putting these in on the pod (top, bottom, middle)?
I have looked at some pics in user's galleries and it seems a lot of people put the f/p on the bottom. Never having been in a truck with gauges, is that the position that is easiest for the eye to pick up? As that to me is the most important thing, I want the f/p gauge in the easiest to see location.
Thanks,
~Rob

My personal preference is the egt on top, boost in middle, fuel pressure on bottom. You watch your egt the most, and when its on top it puts it right in your face if you are using a triple pillar. On top makes it much easier to glance at. But to each their own.

I have the EGT on top since it's easy to see at eye level and is the most important at all times IMHO, boost in the middle, it's fun to watch the needle wag and trans temp on the bottom. My FP gage is in a single pod mounted at the bottom of the dash between the ash tray and the cigarette lighter. Its easy to see at a glance every 15 minutes or so to make sure the VP44 stays well fed.

I can't even remember what order mine are in, just that the FP is on the bottom.
If it springs a leak, I don't want it dribbling down over all the other guages.
I think mine's Boost up top, Tranny temp in the middle, FP on the bottom, the EGT next to it on the dash.
Bad pic, don't know why they showed up red.

Phox....
Does this adjustment to your photo help?
I cleaned it up a bit using PaintShop Pro - if I spent a lot more time than 5 minutes on it, I could probably do it a little better than it is now...

From top to bottom mine go tranny temp, fuel pressure, boost, egt. I care more about fuel pressure than I do boost because I've gone through 4 different fuel pumps and I'm not highly bombed by any means.

I think the top/down order depends on how vertically challenged the driver is -- you want the most important at or slightly below eye level. Looking up or down on a frequent basis causes eye strain and contributes to distraction/accidents. Mine is boost on top, EGT, then FP on the bottom. I'm mounting the Trans Temp on the steering column this weekend (mount is arriving from Geno's today) -- if BigBlue tells us how he mounted 4 on the A-pillar, I might change my mind...

OK, I'll bite... did you custom make it yourself or have it done by a "custom shop" (someone the rest of us can contact)? The dark photo doesn't due your custom mount justice (meaning I can't tell how you did it).
