gauge lighting?

gauge lighting?
I'm going to be installing gauges in the a-pillar - i've seen mention of installing a separate dimmer switch in order to dim the gauges independently from the dash gauges.
Anyone here done this?
If so, how did you do it?

YEP. Very simple. get to the back of your dimmer switch with a test light, poke the wires one by one until your light shows the same variance as your interior lights. you will want them on your dimmer switch because at first (especially if you have 3 gauges) they will get on your nerves because they are so bright. However after u get used to them you'll want them as bright as they can go. Good Luck!

Whitey - Thanks.
I was actually thinking about puting a separate dimmer in-line with the gauges where I could dim the gauge lights indepently of the dash lights.
I'm not an electrical genious - but don't imagine were talking rocket science here either.
Does Radio Shack carry a 12 volt dimmer switch that could be uitilized?
Just wondering if anyone else has wired their gauges up this way.

Hoping you guys can help out on this. I just had gauges put in an overhead pod and they are wayyyy to bright. Have to call the shop and see if they know how to dim them down. (Even with the dimmer turned all the way down they are just a tad bright then.) Am out of town right now I will have to take and then post some pics for those who would like to see.
thanks. jeff
