I know my buddy put a gas cluster in his 2005 Dodge Cummins. It went right in and worked just fine. I don't know about the pre-03's. But i would say it's the same.

You talking about aftermarket tachs. If you are, you would have to find a tach pick-up signal for you're new tach. The dodge is off a gear tooth and unless you can adjust the tach for the extra counts of teeth, it might not give you that acturate of engine rpm. You would have to do some frequency adjustments as the tach is looking for igntion cycles to function correctly. There are devices that you can plug into the OBDII port and record and display info from the ECM/PCM computer.

No Im looking to take a stock gasser gauge cluster and put it into my truck. Dont want a seperate tach. Got to keep it looking as stock as possible so no one asks too many questions.

Just curious, how far are you planning on reving up the motor? What ya done to the motor? Let us know how it works for you. The stock should work. Just have to find the right connectors for the dash. dodge, does lots of switch on that stuff. You might have to find the same year dash as you're truck.

The cluster is a direct swap. The coolant temp will be off a little.

20 degrees if i remember right. I think the gasser one starts at 160* where the diesel one starts at 140*
