Gage Question

Hehe, posted this in the 3rd gen forums by mistake...this seems like a better place to get answers!

Got my gages this weekend, to put in with my fuel module. I picked the 3 gage unit on the dash since the pillar seemed too close to my head, and I like it, except for 2 things...the mounting is a little odd, since I have to leave the center gage loose so I can pull it out tot get to the mounting screw, and the cooby hole light wires I used for the lighting tap don't work with the gages. I tapped the cig lighter for the pyro hot and was just going to tie the lights into that too, unless there is a better suggestion. The gages are optix...pyro, boost and fuel pressure.

I also have a question about the fuel pressure mounting location. Whats the best place to tap in on a 12 valve? the 24 valvers and the instructions say to use the inner NPT port on the fuel filter, but mine isn't tapped. Shall I go ahead and tap it or is there somewhere else I should put it?

Drill and tap the banjo bolt. No one sells them pre-tapped for the 12v.

For the lights, I just hooked it up to a fuse.

Thanks! Nice Pics.

Is that the banjo bolt on the pump? Maybe there is only one...I'm still learning. I want to make sure I get a post filter reading so I know when the filter goes bad.

Also, if I pull that bolt will I need to reprime my pump, or can I just fire it up?

If it is the bolt on the pump, maybe I should just pull my plate while I'm at it and bust out the grinder...

Yes it is the banjo bolt on the pump. You don't need to prime anything. Just have to crank it a little longer once you put it back to get fuel back in the line (don't burn up your starter, give it a break in between).
