True. And just to clarify, its not necessary or good to read directly off the VP. The pulses from the VP are to intense and cause issues with gauges and senders. Tap in right at the outlet side of the filter housing or if you have no housing then some other location you choose as long as its not close to the VP. Reading pre the fuel filter will give inaccurate pressures.

the raptor pump is a really good unit. easy to install, factory style connectors work very well, adjustable fuel pressure, half inch line from the tank to the inj. pump. just make sure you move your fp guage to between your fuel canister and injector pump as noted above

Measuring pre filter lets you know exactly what pressure lp is putting out and that it is working, a common problem with the carter lp's(You couldn't trust them), which is what I had used for 10yrs until I recently bought a raptor.

I will continue to monitor fuel pressure pre filter and occasionally check post filter pressure w/ a temporary gauge. In 10 yrs of checking post filter pressure I have never had more than a 2-3 psi loss thru the filter. I don't get clogged filters or had one get clogged.

I haven't changed a vp-44 in 10 yrs or about 275k miles so I must be living right.

Nope, just lucky. Your day will come. Most VP failures are due to electrical problems, not low PSI readings.
