Fuel pump
I know this may sound like a dumb question, but without looking under the truck can anyone tell me where my lift pump is? Does it have a tank pump or one mounted to the engine block? I have seen parts listed for both and am unsure as to what I have. If I turn the ignition on I hear the pump sound appearing to come from the engine compartment. I guess it could have both??

Look under the fuel filter, on the side of the engine, round fuel pump held on by 2 studs to a L bracket. You will see a line in and out.
You won't have both, others will disagree, but I change the in-tank units back to engine mounted ones, nothing worse in my book than to be stuck by the side of the road unable to change a stupid pump.

if its still working u can have some turn ignition to on and u should be able to hear it cycle on. if u hear it under the hood thats wear it is if not try listening close the tank youll probably here it there.

By turning the ignition on, he means bump the starter but don't start the truck. That will start the LP for 30 seconds or so and you should be able to hear it humming....
