Fuel Pressure Guage Take off.

I am finally going to do the smart thing and throw a fuel pressure guage in the truck.

Can i just use the schraeder v/v that is on the inlet of the VP44??

if not where do you guys usually run your pressure take-offs??

Jon.

Yup, that is where you tap the system for a FP gauge on a 02......it is a -4 SAE 45* fitting but a -4 37*JIC or AN fitting will thread on and not leak - the pressure is far too low to be an issue.....just remove the schrader valve and screw on your fitting and plumb the system with hydraulic hose or a good quality braided hose.

I think its called an "ar" fitting or somthing like that. Summit sells a lot of that stuff and so does a lot of parts houses that make hose. Good luck

thanks...i am hoping too have it in today...but i am not willing too pull the schraeder v/v, to take it in and size it up, for fear of having it leak all over the place.

Anyone else?? BTW I am installing an electric guage.

I recommend that you use an isolator or needle valve to keep the vp from demalishing your sender...It happened to me. Now,I use a di-pricol gauge mounted on the hood. When my sender was dieing, my f-press. would jump from 20-8-10-11-19-4-ect.... Manual gauges are alot nicer and easier to believe. IMHO

I used a fuel injection tester hose

Hooked right onto the schrader valve, with the schrader valve still in place

Seems to work for now. Using a needle valve and copper 1/8 " tubing.

You don't have to remove the banjo bolt to get it sized up.....as I mentioned previously, "it is a -4 SAE 45* fitting but a -4 37*JIC or AN fitting will thread on and not leak - the pressure is far too low to be an issue."
