Fuel Pressure Guage Hook-Up
I'm working on installing my Westach FP guage from Geno's. It's a nice kit, but I found it a little shy on detail for the install instructions. It looks like I'll be going to the cigar lighter for power. Has anyone gone this route and have advice on how to access the cigar lighter wiring before I start tearing my dash apart. Is there a better alternative for power?
I learned what might be an expensive lesson. I over-torqued the the sender hose on the shraeder fitting and ruined the fitting seal. Not that hard to do. Easy does it next time.
Thanks for the help.

Lighter is a great source for switched power.
Big fuse on it, so not much chance on just a guage or two blowing it.
Not sure on easy access to it, wiring should be visible peeking under the dash?
Every other vehicle I've owned either didn't come with one, or it was burned up so I replaced it.
There was a collar than unscrewed and the lighter either pushed through or pulled out.
Might go one further and tap the ashtray light for dimmable guage light power source.
Keeps the fuse panel uncluttered.

I just installed mine a week or so ago. I got the power for the light from the ash tray light. I couldnt find any easy way to get to the cig lighter so i used a fuse tap off the fuse panel. I put a in-line fuse just after the panel and thats the power for the guage. It all worked great except i thought the sender was bad cause it showed 0 pressure all the time. Turns out i actually HAD zero fule pressure. Changed the LP and all is fine.
