Fuel Pressure Gauge Help?

I have a 2001 CTD and I just ordered an Auto Meter Ultra-Lite Fuel Pressure Gauge w/Isolator and I should get it next week. The question I have is what diameter hose and what fittings will I need to hook it up to my lift pump and to the isolator? I also wasn't sure how long of a hose I would need.

I figured I would ask here before I started so I could get all the parts at one time and I could hook it up as soon as I get it.

I used 4' of braided SS 3/8" tubing to bring into the cab, had the isolator but it failed within 6 months so it's sitting on my shelf, I used the fuel hose Genos sells and tapped into the shrader valve on the VP with a needle valve between the Genos hose and my SS hose.

Good luck.

Thanks 2500! I was searching the forums and I didn't see anything that was specific on the materials needed. I did read a lot about people having problems with the Isolator and just running a straight line. I am thinking I might just skip the isolator also and run a straight line into the cab and just save some headaches. I will just take my time and make sure everything is sealed and tight.

If you are using braided S.S. you will be fine. That is unless the bourdon tube in the guage fails, but that is not common.

A member here (Infidel) has been running fp guages on his 12V (25-35psi) using nylon tubing for 10+ years. Im at 5+ years on my nylon tubing as well.
