fuel plate install

It depends on whether of not the arm touches the plate in the correct place or not, Its better to check it than be sorry later after you put everything back together (like I am now ) http://www.piersdiesel.com/TechLeverAdj.htm
I have to adjust my arm tommorrow and from reading that link it should be pretty simple...

It depends on the fuel plate, position you install it, and if you add governor springs.
It is pretty easy to see from the top and that is the only view you'll get to make the adjustment. If have a problem with depth perception, apply something to the governor lever to leave a mark on the plate when you roll the throttle forward.
To be honest, I thought adjusting the lever was harder than installing a plate or governor springs. You have to work blind and sometimes it is a bugger to get the cover screws loose.

I would think so as long as you can get the AFC housing zip-tied out of the way, I will be doing mine somewhere around 3:30 tommorrow afternoon once I get done with my final . I will post back my experience with it and try to give you a better idea with what your in for...

When I installed my No 8 plate, I left it in the stock position and I didn't adjust the lever at all, the truck seems to run fine. I can't see exactly where the lever is, but it seems to hit a bit above the bottom tip of the plate. The instructions say it should hit at the bottom tip. Should I move it down, or leave it? My instincts are to just leave it, since the truck runs OK. I've also read that if you don't move the position of the plate, you don't need to adjust the lever, correct?

If you notice in the instructions that come with plates there is no mention of adjusting the gov arm but they do specify to install them in the stock position.

You just need to lift the fuel shut off lever and roll the throttle forward until the lever hits the plate.
