Fuel Only Boxes

Fuel Only Boxes
I have a buddy with a 01 HO truck lookin at the TST powermax3 or the Blue Chip FMS.
Wonder how these boxes run without a timin box or smarty?? I mean is there a huge difference with say an EZ?? I mean I know that a smarty is gonna add low end but its a huge difference.
He is plannin on goin and gettin the box now and then stackin a smarty later on when funds are better.
Also anybody know much bout the Blue chip 85hp box?? He said somethin bout gettin it cause it was only 490 brand new and maybe addin some injectors since he could pick up a set of jammers for 200 and with the box only bein 500 he would only have 700 in that, I think the FMS and TST are right 1k by themselfs??

i had the FMS only for a long time and it is a pretty big difference! I loved it. Then I bought an XZT+ for timing later and it increased it a little more. I am a big supporter of FMS. -easy to use and adds lots of power. Also, Chip is great for customer service

the timing will give you more of a gasser type feel..more responsive......but either box works good by themselves also.just not as perky feeling right off idle.............i dont think you would go wrong with either of them.good customer service from both....personally,,id go with the fms though.the cheaper bluechip box mentioned is a good deal if you already have guages........bama

For 490, why doesn't he buy a used Drag Comp and get the best of both worlds. For less money, he should buy the Quadzilla XZT standard box. It is good for 120HP and is fueling only. With an HO, he will like injectors better than any other upgrade. Don't go too big as he will have almost no adjustability with sticks, whereas a box can be turned on or off. Up or down etc. I think the XZT+ is the best bang for the buck right now.

He is wantin to try somethin different than what everybody else has around here. I mean everybody has the edge drag comp or attitude, only 2 guys have the TST and I got um to run that.
Just really wantin to see what else is out there, can't beat a truck if he has the same thing you do, or well there a less likey chance on it.

I have the TST comp box and love it. The comp upgrade is rated at 180hp and 400tq. I currently have it stacked with the smarty and I like this combination the best so far. I would recomend it if money is not a issue.
