fuel line through firewall...
I'm about to get started on my fuel pressure gauge install. Before the gauge gets here I was going to run the fuel line through the firewall and zip tie it out of way so the gauge can go in fairly quick/easy.
I did a lot of searching on here, and on my truck, I can't find a good place to run the line through the firewall. Do I just drill a new hole right behind fuel filter and get a grommet to fit? Or is there a grommet I didn't see that has room for a fuel line? I plan on mounting the gauge in front of the 4x4 shifter.
Any advise/pictures would be a big help. Thanks, Chris
oh one more question...do I need to worry about getting air out of the line? I'm going to run fuel into the cab. (with a shutoff valve under the hood)

I drilled a hole for mine so the line was smooth with no kinks or bends. I also put the fuel line in a nylon sheath to prevent it from abrasion. If I remember right, I did not have to bleed the air. Be sure the valve is shut off when you start the engine. Once started, open it very slowly and in very small increments, it won't take much to get the gauge working. If the needle flutters, the valve is open too much.

I just got done drilling a new hole, pretty much the same way you did. Less line in the cab that way, seems like a cleaner install.
Thanks for tip on starting the engine first.
I got all the plumbing in, just gotta find a cheap gauge now!

Everything I've needed to run into the cab went through the grommet that the main harness goes through. I don't know if that would be too tight for a fuel line, though. Everything I've run is electric.
