Fuel Gauge Reading Question
Recently installed my mechanical ISSPRO Fuel Pressure Gauge. In the process of learning what is normal and acceptable readings with all these gauges. I do have a question about the Fuel Pressure readings. I've noticed that for about the first five minutes of easy driving, the fuel pressure is under 10 lbs and when I slightly accelerate, certainly not WOT, it drops to about 5-6 lbs, wobbles a little then returns to about 10 when I ease off the pedal. After this initial "warmup" period of 5 minutes or so, everything settles down to 15 idle, 10 WOT and about 12 cruising along (60-70 mph). Are the fuel pressure readings during "warmup" what I should be seeing? Personally, I think I'm getting a little paranoid about the pressure readings and am looking for a comforting comment about I'm doing just fine.

~dave

???
Not sure what's going on there.
I'm also using the Isspro mechanical FP guage, and I've got a rock-solid 15 psi when it fires up.
What point are you using to pick up pressure?
Right now I'm pre filter at the filter canister.
Soon to change to post filter.

Re:Fuel Gauge Reading Question
I'm post filter at the inlet to the Fuel Injection Pump. Remember, there is a filter design change between your 99 and my 01.

~Dave

Re:Fuel Gauge Reading Question
I've seen this numerous times, Dave, with numerous fuel systems. Some seem to do, others don't. It may have something to do with climate. Cooler weather thickens the fuel a bit, causing lower pressures until the fuel heaters kick in and the fuel warms up.

Then theres my fuel system.
bent from day one 10 psi at idle 10 psi at cruise never below 7 psi at WOT with TST COMP and DD 3's and recovers quick.

Re:Fuel Gauge Reading Question
Dave, It is not uncommon to see 1 to 2 psi less when starting in cold weather, but your seems a little more than normal but you could still have a little air in the sender line.
