Question fuel gauge rattle

i have isspro ev series gauges. the fuel pressure gauge is a 30 psi gauge. i read 21 psi idle and 16 wot. just the other day the gauge started to rattle. it has progressively gotten worse and is quite annoying now. the plumbing is from the fuel canister straight to the gauge. my questions are: if i add a snubber needle valve, would that stop the problem? where would i get one? or is my gauge just f'ed up and i need to get another one? i am going to probably add a snubber needle valve with a shutt off valve so i can at least close off the fuel to it so i don't pull my hair out driving down the road. also id does it more at idle in drive then it does at idle in park. under acceleration it doesn't do it at all. the needle is also vibrating alot now. thanks

You can usually find the needle valve at any major parts house.

My needle vibration was caused by a minute hose leak on the back of the gage. I tightened the hose clamp and the jumpy needle went away.

Your setup should look something like this:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...cat=500&page=3

Running without a needle valve or pressure snubber "may" have damaged your guage. I guess youll find out after you get the needle valve in.

I had the same problem with my gauge. The needle valve solved about 90% of it. When I was messing around with that thing, I noticed that every time I disconnected the fp hose to where ever it was plumbed to, the problem would go away for a few months. So when ever mine starts to act up again, I just unhook it and that solves it for a few more months.

It's post filter. And yes, it tells you if your filter is getting dirty, which in turn, makes sure your VP 44 isn't starving.

well i went to home depot and got some pipe fittings. i got a ball valve that can be a shut off valve too. works well both ways, on and off. it is a heavdy duty little thing. but now the gauge doesn't rattle. the gauge reads steadily upon starting the truck. it used to spike up to 21 psi and the needle would vibrate. now it is a smooth incline when started and holds 21 psi at idle very smoothly. thanks

Great!
The ball valve was one of the options I considered.
