Front speaker size?
I noticed it was posted that the rear speaker size for a 2001 is 5.25" and a 6.5" speaker will work. I was wondering if anyone knows what the front speaker size is? Thanks in advance.

put 6x9's in my truck too. gonna re-do the system here pretty soon and replace the 6x9's with round speakers. you get alot better sound clarity from the round speakers over ovals

I tried to put 6X9 in my truck and the door window rail interferred with the speaker magnet. The 6 1/2in speakers fit with the adapter. Depends on speakers. You could fit them into the quad door, you just need to do some trimming on the door. I run two 6 1/2 speaker per door.

Yup, I put in two 6 1/2in speakers in there, in my truck. I have to find some different door panels so I can do some trimming on the panel. I run two 400X2 amps for each speakers and a 600X2 amp for the front door. The front door is abit more tricky, as there is moving window parts. You could fit in a 6X9 into the door, but the magnet hits the window, of course it depends on which speaker you use. I run a 1200X2 sub amp for my dual 12in subs, the set-up works nice, but doesn't have that big thump sound, as I use shallow 12in subs. I run four tweaters, two in the doors and two in pillars posts.
It works pretty nice, I just have to finish my deck install one day, I bought one of those fancy alpine units that has everything like ipod, bluetooth, siruis, CD unit controller. Lots of little boxes to be hooked up. I put everything behind the rear seat.
I also put in tons of sounds deader, in the floor, doors, dash. You can actually talking and hear someone inside the truck now.
