Front 1-ton springs instead of leveling blocks??
I was shopping for front leveling blocks for my '02 2500 4x4 when one of the mechanics suggested replacing the front springs with 1-ton springs to level it instead of the leveling blocks.
Has anybody done this??
is this possible?? or is this mechanic off his rocker
it sounds like a good idea, so was the titanic.....

I believe that your mechanic is talking about swapping in a 1 ton FORD differential and springs into the front end of your Ram. It's supposed to be just about the best way to go since it will clear up a lot of the front end problems that exist with these trucks.

There's a common trick in the 1500's to use 3500 CTD springs to raise the front end ~2 inches. Are you sure your mechanic wasn't talking about a 1500? The 2500 and 3500 springs should be the same since it's the same exact axle underneath them:

Thats what I thought too, that the 3500 and 2500 have both the same springs. So the mechanic was most likely talking about the 1500. Would the stock snowplow springs work?? any specs?
The skyjacker D25 sound like a good idea, I'll look into it. Thanks for the info.

The snow plow prep package will not level your truck. Height might increase 1/2" Springs are designed for heavier loads ie: snowplows. Try the D25's for 150.0 or the T-Rex front springs are the ulitimate choice for 300.00. T-Rex springs ride so much better than stock or D25's springs they're in a class all their own.

T-Rex gets their coils through Deaver Spring in Santa Ana, CA. I paid $325 for a pair of 6" coils with a 15% softer than stock spring rate. Linear or progressive, I believe are the same price.
They ride really really nice...........
