frickin VP

Headed out for a day of fishing the vp decided to throw a fit. We were going down the road and noticed some oil on the boat. Pulled over and the whole engine compartment and underside of the truck was covered so back home we go.
I was going to go wash the engine off and decided to check the oil before going. Good thing, engine was full of diesel. I dumped about 4 gallons of really thin oil or more like colored diesel out of it.
Pulled the injectors and connector tubes and had them checked over. No bad o-rings and they all popped fine. So off came the pump and it looks like it was pumping diesel out of the front seal. Has anyone had thisluck I have. Pump isn't very old but I tapped the pump wire last week so it's probably mine. MAN, I hate these vp's!!!!!!!!!!

I've had the crankcase full of diesel on my '05 more times than I care to mention, but this is the first time I've heard of this on a VP powered truck. Good luck though...

Just a follow up, I called the shop I got the pump from and explained what it was doing. They said they had never had one leak out of the shaft seal but they would put it on the stand and test it. I have a cover tap on it and told them that and told them I understood it voided the warranty on the pump. Well I sent it off last week and hadn't heard anything from them until today.
The UPS man showed up with the pump rebuilt and the bill with it showed no charge. Talk about a shop standing up for what is right, I figured I would have to eat it. I called them and they said the bearing had worked loose in the housing and pushed the front seal out. This is a big diesel place in Illinois and Iowa and he said it was a first for him.
All the diesel people I have talked to have never seen this happen on a vp. Now if I can be this lucky on the lottery to be that one in million guy it would be great.
I'll probably be the only one but keep this in mind if your oil gets to full.
