ok, still a little confused, how do i know what the in and out are. and when you refer to "the pump" are you talking about the lift pump or the VP. and where's the stock lift pump harness located. and last but not least, is the holley blue fuel pump a universal deal, do i just go to napa and say i want a holley blue or what?

thanks for your help!

Yeah, the in and out are marked on the pump. "The Pump" is the holley blue. It is universal, they make a few models, a blue, red and a black. The blue is the one you want. As for the harness, iI cant remember exactly what I did, but I think I just spliced into the wire that is right on the factory lift pump and ran it to a relay that powers the Holley Blue. Anymore Q's feel free to ask.

on the holly blue. i ran a new line with fuse from the battery! and then a manual switch under the dash! acts as a anti theft device. i also have another switch inline on my center consol i made. it is a simpe task . took me right at 30 minits to do! mines been in for 9 months now no problems! 13psi at idle and no less than 7psi WOT! and the pump is rebuildable for i think 30 dollars in parts!

you can run the stock and holly pumps together. but when either go. it will bring your f.p. down to almost nothing! so if you plan to do this. have a bypass setup. or stuff to bypass/rmove either from the system(happend to me right after my holly install)

I was wondering what to do about the plumbing at the original LP when switching to a Holley Blue? I'd rather not worry about getting at that junk Carter pump ever again. Has anyone removed the guts in the Carter and left it unwired, so fuel from the Holley could flow through it to avoid re-plumbing/disturbing original banjo fittings/lines? I'd like to add, I've used 4 different Holley Blue pumps on racecars and hotrods with gas and have had very good luck in those applications, most are 15- 23 years old, and though they may not have 50,000 miles on them they have had gas in them all those years and still work well. Although they are a bit loud, I'll isolate mine with rubber mounts to help. I think with diesel they'll last a very long time. $.02

Do you need to run a regulator with the Holley Blue or is ot ok to run it straight up? I remember reading something about a regulator...do y'all have em? I have my carter relocated and it seems to be good but if I have to replace it I might go with a Holley Blue.

Nope no regulator. don't need it, what the pump doesn't use will return to the tank.

Your lift pump is out of spec

Mine was just a hair under spec according to dealer who replaced it. I had very similar #s, 10-11 idle, 5 cruise, 0 WOT.

New lift pump, I have 14 or so idling. 11-12 cruise. 5 WOT. This is with EDGE Juice on level one and Mach 1.6 injectors.

I plan on getting the Vulcun relocation kit from Genos, so I can pick my WOT #s up.
