FP Gauge?
Alright...I just finished installing anew LP and am running it off a relay, but I still read no FP...I run a mechanical gauge--do they fail often? I know I have pressure because when I re-did the fuel lines I drained the system. I bumped the starter and re-primed everything. It is just disconserting to have the FP gauge pegged at 0.
What is a good brand to replace it with? Can I get one at a store near Austin, or will I have to order it and wait?
Thanks guys.

I would not not quit the FP gauge yet, Does the truck run?
Where did you run your line from?
Did you use an isolator? (most do not).
It is possible the gauge is bad, I tust it may have warranty?
You may want to try running it after the FF, directly under the hood(to test).
Geno's has an inexpensive gauge kit that may be used as a second opinion.
If the FF fills when you bump the starter, you should have some pressure.
I am sure others will have some better ideas.
This can be very frustarting. I discovered my LP was bad when I put my gauge on. It made putting the gauges, Vulcan and all a very serious project for a part time wrench turner.
Good Luck!

I have real pressure because the LP filles the filter and filled the lines after I changed them. No matter where I put the gauge (Pre or post filter) I have no read pressure. The top of my gauge has a little rubber seal and now fluid is coming out of it...so I think it might be the gauge.
I know the LP's flow fuel because I tested them before installing them. (I transfer fuel from one 5gallon jug to another).
I already had the gauge...but it always acted funny...On hot days it would read low, on warm days 15PSI...Recently the pressure would not drop...so when I would start in the morning it would still read 2-3 PSI...I am going to try to get a new one...I just wish I could go to a store and buy one instead of ordering and waiting.

I got mine from DPP, I think, DiProcol, about $40. Genos may have some good values too. It only takes a few days to get one and they will not likely have these at NAPA, Autozone, etc. You can call around and ask, see what your options are.
At least your truck runs!

Got myself a tester...the pressure is fine-12psi at the IP under load...the gauge just had died...thanks for the suggestions on where to get a new one.

I had a gauge from vulcan on there, and I used a fuel pressure testing kit from oreilleys or something, then bought a chepo gauge, and now I will order a nice one on line.
FWIW The vulcan stuff is usually pretty reliable.

What gauge do you have from Eric? Do you have an isolator in line to it? Most of the time there is a leak or the diaphragm is in the wrong position.

Actually...upon further tinkering...the gauge is fine, and I had an O-ring come apart and it plugged the line causing a faulty/intermittant, and ultimately no reading. So it is all back together now.
The Vulcan gauge was one they used to sell..it is fluid dampened, has a SS housing and a white face. I got it a few years ago.
I have now changed my connection and have a needle valve and it is working fine.
