Formula 500

So I am going to be talking to Scheids soon and i am going to give them what I want my engine to be built with. My goal is 400 hp 900tq but ti would be nice to get 500/1000. So far this is what i am thinking.

My pump is already built so I will stay away from that.

-370 injectors, Scheids wants to put in Bosch 300, any differences? Was thinking of Mach 6's.

-Lazer cut DV's, Titanium retainers, 60# valve springs

-#4 cam plate, 4k gasket kit,

Studs and fire rings, Does a '03+ gasket fit? Those are prety stout.

HX-40 hybrid that I have but change the exaust housing to a wastegated 16cm. Will later be used for the small twin.

Its late and I cant think of much more, Any sugestions? Twins is out right now, will wait and get some money first. Oh and I have the SB clutch and guages so dont worry about that.

I believe Mach 6's are for 24 valves so that would be out.

370's are ok but there are some better options. Like some DDP stage 4s

The rest seems pretty solid but I wouldn't too much faith in that HX-40 but that is just me.

Mach 6's are 24v injectors. If I was shopping for injectors I would get a set of EDM'd 435's from New Era diesel. $450 is not a bad price for them at all.

***** I am basicaly going to follow what you got, other than the pump. Mine flows way more than stock so I will keep it. Seems like a great combo and def. puts the power down! Driveability is still good isnt it? I drive it everywere so it cant be unmanageable. I will go tell Scheids this week what all I want and what they can do.

Oh would the 435's be too much flow and High EGT's for my HX-40?

Have them do the machine work/fire ring job and then you do the rest. None of it's difficult. Would save you a bunch of money, money that could buy a set of their 5x18's.

Boss this is just my opinion, but I think you're already going to have alot of fuel for the Hx_40 to handle, whether you go with the 370's or 435's. What I would do is get the 435's and if you have way to much fuel pull the plate and starwheel back until you get twins and then shove it all back forward. This way you wouldn't have to buy injectors twice. I'm wanting to get a set of the 435's as soon as funds permit.

Josh Woodruff made me some nice injectors. His goes to a lot of work on his injectors and his prices are very reasonable.

I woudn't advise a 5X18 injector for your application. Unless your wanting 800+ HP I would look for something smaller. The plate being forward or back won't be enough adjustment in this case. Seven hundred HP can be made on 370s(5X12) with much better street maners. Try a 5X14 injector or maybe a 6X11.

Josh has some info on his site: www.woodruffdiesel.com

I read the other thread about the hx-40. Kent said he realy does not want to build an engine with an HX-40, but he tried to charge me $1100 for a HX-35. SO thats why I shot that down. I was thinking 370's or the 435's but Kent said he wants to put on Bosch 300. How much different are these? I will look into some new turbos and keep the 40 for a future twin set up. Going to call Scheids today and see how things are comming.

BTW, They are going to take the head completly apart to machine it so it will be easier for them to instal all the stuuf when they put it back together.
