unless im missing something i still dont see what the pins do that the 4 bolts that hold it on wont do

It's more of a postive location effort-- like a dowel would do.

Cylinder heads often have dowels, even though there are lots of bolts holding them on...

A fluidamper rep told me they started offering the pin after a couple ohio pullers managed to spin their dampers off at 5000+ rpms. I'm only looking to turn 3500.
