Flares for the old girl

Flares for the old girl
I'm tired of my wide tires chunking stuff at my already abused paint job. I'm debating flares but don't know which ones I should get. Let me know what yall think I should get and whether I should have them painted body color or not.
Ignore the hungover looking driver.

I'm weird. If I was building an off-road truck, I would get these replacement fiberglass fenders with flares built in from Glassworks Unlimited:

Then again, I'd probably go with a Cummins re-powered Dakota.

Flares vs. a wing? How do you justify that one? I happen to like flares if they fit the style of the truck. My roommate has flares on his 01 and they look great. I just don't know what would look that great on mine so I thought I'd ask the fine folks of this great site to pick a set out for me.

I really like the Xenon flares on a 2nd gen Dodge......Very clean and Euro looking.....and I do like the Xenons when they are colour matched to the truck.

I personally like the contrast in color. Painted flares are for "girly-men"...JMO. (Is that saying the same as calling it a a city truck look?)
Only set I ever looked at closely was the Bushwackers...nice quality...with 3 width choices (guess they all have that). I have their bed rail covers and am very satisfied.

Heard nothing but good stuff about the Xenon's... don't think I've ever seen any live.

Justin,
Actually those look sharp.
My only dislike is, as your pictures shows, the color never seems to exactly match. Maybe it's just the angle of the light in your photo, but most look like mismatched colors to me. Could be the same paint, but on a Plastic/Rubber surface, just looks different!

I knew you were kidding... The only dirt that the truck sees is the pulling track.
I bought the flares from dodge back in 2001, that’s when they were coming from the factory already painted. (roughly $580)
They match very well, it’s just the angle of the pic. If I did it again, I will definitely buy factory. The fit and finish is the best I have seen. (When compared to after market)
Now I just need to paint those weights.

I like the way the factory ones look. My only dilema with having them painted is will they match the paint fade of my truck? My truck is only 5 years old but I can tell that the paint has already faded some. That's what I'm worried about.
