Buddy, you need twins. Don't be afraid of the bigger turbos. They are abit lagger, but on the hills you'll really be able to lay the hammer into it. Low 50's is abit high for a single. It will work, but you're egt's are pretty high. I tried when I tow to limit around 1300-1400 egt's. I've done 1500's on hills but I don't recommend it. Mach 5's are big, to tow heavy. Run just a single, and tow. I hardly tow with my 6's. Saying that I just slam in 125rwhp and go. Then you can talk to the family and forget about the watching the pyro. If you just run a dyno, go with the single and run some nos. If you do that and tow, you need more air. If you have the money a cam and ported head is very nice. I have a hard time paying for the extra money, as the heads don't last to long in these motors. I will have to learn on how to port these baby's, then its a slam dunk. F1 makes a nice cam. You gonna run nos and meth?

No nos for me, maybe water. I can't do twins, I sled pull & the rules don't allow it. I'm limited no matter what I try to do.

Find a bigger S300 with a larger turbine housing. It should help some what.
You really need more air. A GT4208R or GT45 series would be tons of turbo for what you're doing. That S300 is a daily street driver, and pretty small. You need more air to get the right air to fuel mixture.

J Lent, don't molest your truck, it runs great! It pulls your skid steer, pulls the sled well, and seems to be fairly reliable. Nothing broke there, I bet most trucks making 550HP plus run 1500+ at WOT and 4K rpms. That is a lot of fuel and rpm to keep everything cool.

Yeah, at the most, I may add some water to cool things down. Or on the other hand, put the flies back in & give er' hell.

you do have to think about if you ad water that creates steam in the cylinder, thus putting more drive pressure to the charger, but i really think that it will stay alive especially if the shaft in the turbo has any size to it at all, when i started pulling tractors i had a little factory john deere turbo that i was running around 80 lbs on the compressor side with so keep hammerin down.

For me the turbo surging started after I did the headgasket and adjusted the wastegate. Same turbo same sticks same chip. So hopefully I just need to have the wastegate opening alittle sooner to make it go away.

I am with what Big_Blue24 said to you and I am in the same boat I got a truck hopefully around 550hp that I can do anything with tow,DD,Race. I dont think I will be doing much more because to get much over 600hp it starts to get alot more expensive and I would rather get into a CR and play with them as it seems endless what you can do to them and you got the convenience of the newer truck.

No, not everyday. Only when local ricers wanna play or I run into my friends Powerjoke. Other than that, I usually keep it below 3500.
