finally time for a box

finally time for a box
ok, I cant take it anymore, Im sick of getting beat at traffic lights by civics and junky 1/2 tons.
I think Im going to finally break down and get a box, leaning towards an Edge Comp used as an EZ (just for now )
Ive been around for awhile so I know alot of plus's and minus's of different types of box's but I do have a few questions Im not sure about
1) I know with an EZ you can remove the evidence by removing it and unhooking your batteries to drain your caps...........Is it the same with the Comp? (im not piercing the wire) Just remove the box?
2) Can a TST PM3 be used the same way? If it can, does it make more power than an EZ?
o yea, dont worry, im getting gauges
Thanks guys
Jeff

from my knowlage the PM is just a fueling box, and wont have any effect on ur truck unless you pierce that pesky wire. the edge comp has a timming box built in so you can actually have that to give you more power, or the EZ is just a timming box by itself. but thats all the EZ does. the edge Comp has fueling built in as well

kingofdodge, read this reply from Rusty JC below. He explains what is and isn't a fueling/timing box. Also there is quite a bit of info from that thread too:

Nope. The EZ is a fueling and timing box, plus a boost fooler. The EZ intercepts the fueling command on the CANbus from the ECM to the VP-44 and tells the VP-44 to give more fuel than called for by the ECM. In effect, it could actually trick the ECM into calling for more fuel than it normally would by telling the ECM that more boost is present and/or the accelerator position is more "open" than is really the case. That's why it plugs into the CANbus.
The difference between the EZ and a wire-tap box is that the maximum amount of fuel the EZ can call for will never exceed the absolute maximum fueling limit programmed into the VP-44. By tapping the wire, however, the Comp, etc., are actually controlling the fueling solenoid in the VP-44 themselves downstream of the VP-44's software; therefore, they bypass the VP-44's maximum fueling limits programmed into the software.
